Anya
 
I wonder if Jacob likes me. No. His friends ditched him, so he sat with me and Hazel. We're just friends. Right? I sighed while lounging on the couch, doing my homework. My phone vibrated in my pocket so I flipped it open.
 
"Hey Any! Wanna catch a movie later? I heard Jacob will be there!"
 
"Seriously, Krissy?!"
 
"Yep!"
 
"And how would you know?",I asked laughing.
 
"I have my ways of making people tell me things.",Krissy said mysteriously.
 
"You didn't kill anyone? Did you?"
 
"Ya' know, a few here and there. What? They wouldn't talk!"
 
"Wow, Krissy, imma go call the cops now, but I'll beet you at the movie!"
 
"Oh no! Imma go hide from the cops then!"
 
We both started cracking up. "Kay, see ya' at the movies! Later!"
 
"Catch ya' later!",Krissy said then hung up the phone.
 
I heard the front door slam shut, and heavy footsteps on the stairs. I froze. "Damn it!",his harsh voice burned holes through my ears. "How'd you do at school today!?"
 
"I...",I started, but he cut me off.
 
His head flashed to the side to where my failed math test laid. "You got an F!" He erupted taking several steps forward, as I was hit with the aroma of beer surrounding him. He raised his fist, and I closed my eyes.
"Anya! Your late!",Krissy hollered while fake glaring at me as I walked over to her.
 
"Sorry! Lost track of time!",I lied.
 
"Come on, let's get our food so we're not late for the movie!"
 
We ran to get our food, but while I grabbed my food, my long sleeve shirt creeped up my arm, exposing my newly acquired bruises. I quickly pulled my sleeve down, but Krissy had already noticed.
 
"Anya? What was that on your arm?"
 
"Oh, it's nothing I tripped and fell on the way here.",I lied again,I hated lying to Krissy, but I didn't want there to worry.
 
"Okay...",she said trailing off.
 
"Come on, let's go!",we grabbed our stuff, and ran to watch our movie.
